Sam Reuter is an illustrator, designer, and animator from Bloomington, WI, who specializes in line art and vibrantly colored character design.
Currently based in Minneapolis, MN, with his three cats and boyfriend, he is pursuing a BA from the University of Minnesota. There, he recently completed his capstone short film (shown below and exhibited at the show “Resilience of the Mind” at the Regis Center for Art) and is set to complete his studies Fall 2026.
Outside of classes and work, he can be found at late night jazz clubs, doodling his favorite media, or spending nights in with his little beasts.
Capstone Short Film - Sunday Morning
Though short, I am quite proud of this work! The majority of my time was spent making individual sprite animations which were then woven together to emulate the preview gameplay sequences you’d see in older video games. This was all brought together with a monitor, some pillows, and a vintage carpet to simulate playing video games on a Sunday morning back home, planted ever too close to the screen.
